How to get in
Share these instructions with everyone in your crew.
- Find the entrance13 Grattan St, Brooklyn, NY 11206.
- Use the buzzerUse the big black buzzer on the left side of the building entrance.
- Enter the buzzer codeEnter 305, then press the green Enter button.
- Find the studioGo to the 4th floor. Unit 405 is the last door on the left — the door says MikSpace Studio. Touch the black panel at the top of the handle to reveal the numbers. Do not try to use your fingerprint.
- Open the studio doorEnter 252525#. The code activates 5 minutes before your booking.
- Keep the schedule clearArrive 5 minutes early and leave the studio 5 minutes before your session ends.
How to use gear
Watch the short videos before moving the equipment.
Change a backdrop
- Set the backdrop remote to Channel 01.
- Use the remote — never drag the paper backdrop.
- Gently hold the paper while lowering it.
- Bring every backdrop back up when you finish.
- Using a backdrop as a hanging background is free. If you step on the paper backdrop, you must pay $25 for one pull per color, up to 6 ft.
- Do not cut backdrop paper yourself. The fee is $25.
Set up flash strobes
- Plug in the strobes and press the ON button.
- Put the trigger on your camera’s flash hot shoe. Leave the trigger in the studio afterward.
- Make sure the trigger and receiver use the same channel.

Studio rules
Please share these rules with everyone in your crew.
MikSpace is a self-service studio. Please maintain the space and leave it in the same condition as it was presented to you at the beginning of your session.
- No filming, photography, storage, makeup application, or changing clothes outside the studio, including hallways, staircases, and the elevator.
- Please keep music at a reasonable volume.
- No smoking, vaping, or smoke/fog machines anywhere in the building. Penalty: $200.
- No guns or drugs on the premises. Penalty: $300.
- No alcohol on the premises. Penalty: $100.
- No confetti, glitter, moss, feathers, petals, paint splashes, smashed glass, smashed cake, soil, sand, or candle wax. Penalty: $200.
- Do not put tape of any kind on the walls. Fee: $200.
- Do not cut paper backdrops yourself. Penalty: $25.
- If you step on a paper backdrop, the fee is $25 for one pull per color.
- Before leaving, return all furniture and equipment to their original places.
- Take all trash with you and close the studio door tightly 5 minutes before your booking ends.
- No bulky garbage. Bulky-item disposal fee: $200.
